Wimmera region is the place to begin. With a raft of accredited
and professional adventure companies providing all the necessary
guidance and equipment, the region offers the perfect backdrop for
beginners through to experienced thrillseekers.
Mt Arapiles in the MT Arapiles-Tooan State Park, is regarded as
one of the best rockclimbing sites in the world. This imposing outcrop
of rock rises sharply from the plains of the Wimmera to 230 metres
and offers the climber some 2000 different climbs on its many cliffs,
crags and pinnacles. Instruction courses in rockclimbing are available
locally.

are the most extensive and accessible caves in Australia. Some open
up for 250 metres, while others are precipitous circular holes.
Walking tracks follow the caves edges and have a number of viewing
points to observe flora, fauna and lava features.
